Makes sense to me. When these same kids get jobs in the working world later in life, they are going to have to deal with a similar reality. During meetings, presentations and face-to-face discussions with others, texting/chatting/emailing has to wait until later. If a parent or friend has a significant call or message that they need to get to a particular student who doesn't have their phone, do it the old-fashioned way - call the school office!
